Do you think it is easy to be a Christian? If you said, No, you are exactly right. Even Jesus knew this. Matthew 5:11 says "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me." Jesus knew that to be a follower of Christ was going to be a difficult journey.
Look at the life of Christ, The Devil tempted him, the Righteous challenged him, and His own tribe (The Jews) Crucified him. His best friend even said that he didn't know him. If this happen to Jesus 2000 years ago, it could only get worse as time goes on. In some countries, Jesus is such a threat that people are killed just for having a copy of His teaching (The Bible).
This is a scary thought. But here is the promise, The Fearless Factor is this, Revelations 2:10 "Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you the devil will put some of you in prison to test you and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life."
Whoa, Whoa Whoa....to the point of WHAT... death. Take a breather, and think about this for a second. What can the enemy do to you? According to this scripture, the enemy can give you a few bad days, 10 to be exact. Have you ever had a bad week? Sure you have, we all have. I mean look at Job, talk about your bad weeks . But God got him through it. But that doesn't address the death part. In today's world we have radicals that will blow themselves up for a religious lie. They would kill themselves for a lie!!! God is not asking that of us to die . He is just saying keep you faith in Him until the end. Keep your Faith, Your Trust and Your Hope in Him. Do Not Be Afraid!
There was a girl Cassie Bernall, the 17-year-old girl during the Columbine shootings who was a strong believer in Jesus Christ. When the gunmen asked does anyone here believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior, she spoke up and said Yes. She was then shot in the temple. She had faith to the end. Was she scared of course she was, but her faith in Christ never changed
Now hear me out on my next statement. If you are afraid to die, then you need to re-evaluate your relationship with Christ. This is what I mean. We are all going to die. Have you seen any 2000 yr old members at church...No. We are all going to die. Some sooner than others, but that is not to say that you need to want to die. There is a reason for you to be here on earth now, today. God has a purpose for you. Keep your faith in Christ Jesus. Do not be afraid to share your faith with other. This is a commandment of Jesus. Spread the Good News to every corner of the Earth. Until it is your turn to go home.
Be Fearless and Quiet No More.
Your Brother in Christ,
Trey Ore
