Trust...It isn't a word used to lightly. It is usually a word used with someone you know and know well. Who do you trust?
Growing up I had a cousin who was and still is my best friend in the world. We don't talk as much as I would like now that we have kids of our own. But growing up he was the one person I trusted the most. I trusted him with my secrets, I trusted him with my lies, he knew everything about me. I trusted him to watch my back and trusted him with my life. We got into trouble together and never let each other down. He was my Best Friend.
As a growing Christian I look back at that relationship, we both grew up out of that immaturity and both have a strong passion for the Lord. But I think of all of the years I wasted. Where would I be new if I trusted God earlier. Then I thought of the word Trust...I didn't trust God, because I didn't know Him. I knew of Him, but I didn't know Him.
I grew up in a Christian home, much like many of you. I heard the stories, and went to church, but didn't think that God was still doing the awesome things from the Bible anymore. To me there was 3 Testaments...The Old Old Testament( The Old Testament), The OLD Testament (The New Testament), and Revelations ( The Future Testament). We never hear of how God is working today. It is not on TV and not on the evening news. How can you Trust someone you don't see.
I learned later in life that it wasn't that God wasn't working, I just wasn't giving Him the credit. I share with you these to minor miracles that God showed me after reading Acts 2:19 "I will show you wonders in the heaven above" ...then I remembered the pictures from the Hubble telescope, these are some wonders in the heavens. Then just the other day God show me and several other believers a rainbow cloud. It was amazing, I was in awe. I have never seen anything like it.
As I grow as a Christian, in daily readings and weekly Bible Studies I am learning more about my Creator, The Author of Life, My Savior, My True Best Friend, My Jesus...I am able to Trust Him More.
You can't trust a stranger like you can a friend. And you can't Trust Jesus until you make him your friend.
In church, we sing "Jesus you are my best friend" but do we really mean it? Do you talk to him like you would a friend or a neighbor, a brother. He is always ready to hear from you, we just need to start talking.
The Fearless Factor for today is Hebrews 2:13 "And again, "I will put my trust in him."And again he says, "Here am I, and the children God has given me."
When we place our Trust in Him, He declares to all we are one of His. I will Trust someone who isn't afraid to speak up for me. Jesus has my back and laid His life down for it. Jesus is the Bestest, Yes I Said, the Bestest Friend we could ever have.
Be Fearless and Quiet No More.
Your Brother in Christ,
Trey Ore
