Merry Christmas....Are you afraid to say it? Do you cop out from saying the truth? What is the true reason of the season? Why do we fear the holiday backlash?
We have come a long way from Bethlehem. We know the story inside and out, but yet when the time of the year comes around we are to busy with the hustle of the holiday, we forget the significance. All of us.
Today I was writing out CHRISTMAS CARDS for prospects and customers. I thought to myself should I say Happy Holidays or should I say Merry CHRISTMAS. I then thought what if they are Jewish? What do I write. Then I realized the reason I was sending the CHRISTMAS cards in the first place. I was sending out CHRISTMAS cards in honor of Jesus' birthday. Without Christ it would be just another holiday. Another empty just another day holiday.
Why is it that we don't recognize the significance Christ has in our culture. Kids do! They know they have a week off for Jesus Birthday and a week off for Jesus Resurrection. We don't honor any other person that way. Not even the birth of our nation, do we get a week off. So why are we afraid to talk about it.
The Fearless Factor for today is Luke 2:10 "But the angel said to them, "Do Not be Afraid. I bring you good news of GREAT JOY that will be for all people."
Don't be Afraid to share this Good News of Great Joy. Wish them all a Merry Christmas. It is wasn't for Christ we would have nothing to say this time of year.
Be Fearless and Quiet No More.
Your Brother in Christ,
Trey Ore
