Fearless-Factor - Matthew 1:20

Fearless Factor #62 - Matthew 1:20 Do you trust God, in every situation? Do you trust him in the ones that my challenge your reputation? Do you care more about what God thinks of you than others? Joseph, cared more about pleasing God, than pleasing man. How does one come to this conclusion about Joseph since there is so little about him in the Bible. Walk a mile in his shoes, during his day. Marriage today is different than it was over 2000 years ago. There was a serious commitment between a man and a wife. They would stay pure until the marriage. For Joseph, it was difficult. His future wife, Mary, was pregnant and it wasn't due to anything he did. Mary wasn't raped, she didn't have a reputation of one of those woman in town for one on one fun. She was a pure virgin with child. He believed everything she had said but what would the townspeople think of him, and of her. Their reputation was on the line. Joseph is our example of the Fearless Factor for today. Matthew 1:20 "But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit." Joseph was afraid of what would be said about him and Mary, but God sent him peace in the situation he was placed in. He had an opportunity to be used by God. What an awesome situation to be in. By trusting God, he was told where to go and where to be at particular times to keep his family safe. Imagine if Joseph was too afraid to Trust God and divorced Mary. Joseph was more concerned about what God thought of him, than what others thought of him. Whose opinion of you matters most? Be Fearless and Quiet No More. Your Brother in Christ, Trey Ore
